Chirec is an international school that was established to provide a strong and holistic academic foundation to students. Ms. Iffat Ibrahim has been the principal of the school since 2011. Chirec is situated in Hyderabad. The school offers CBSE, IB and Cambridge curriculum.
The vision of the school is to provide quality education to students and achieve overall excellence. Appreciation for green initiatives, emphasis on community service, and development of a multicultural, multilingual and tolerant student community are some of the special features of the school. While teachers are appreciated for achieving best results, there are also incentive plans designed to reward and retain best teachers. Ms. Iffat said, “Merit pay and career ladders are intended to provide financial incentives, varied work and advancement opportunities for seasoned teachers.”
As part of the evaluation process teachers receive continuous feedback from their seniors and the principal. To further help the teachers improve their teaching techniques there is also a 360-degree feedback in place comprising students, parents, section in-charge and the principal.
The school campus has a solar fencing, a strict entry policy for visitors, CCTV cameras and a female attendant in the school buses. Ms. Iffat added, “Behavioural Counsellors conduct sessions for parents about various aspects of child development.”
Students are also made aware of cyber crimes through sessions organized by experts.
Ms. Iffat said, “CHIREC MUN has become a much awaited event in Hyderabad School calendar. Students run a blog. CHIREC has an Exchange Program with Thayer Academy, Massachusetts, USA. “
