Started in 1999, Darshan Academy (a school under Darshan Education Foundation, established by adistinguished scientist and spiritual Master Sant Rajinder Singh Ji Maharaj), Jalandhar includes pre-primary classes through to high school and is registered with CBSE. The campus is spread over 2.8 acres with the junior wing located in Nizatam Nagar and senior wing on Kala Sangha Road. The school has facility for sports like badminton, basketball, athletics, kho-kho, and football. The school is headed by Dinesh Singh as its Principal.

Dinesh says, “Yes ,the curriculum is examination-oriented and to score higher grades students indulge themselves in rote learning but this doesn’t mean that their understanding is not developed and conceptual clarity is not there. Students are not forced into rote learning, but they automatically step into that. The teaching in our school is activity based and students learn through hands.”
Leadership Skills and Social Responsibility
Developing the leadership skills among students under the guidance of teachers has become mandatory. Social responsibility is instilled in the students through social activities conducted in the school. For this, the students are encouraged to participate in projects such as peace rallies, cleanliness drives, awareness of health, roti banks, visit orphanage homes etc.

When I joined New Public school in 1989 in Chandigarh as PGT, I was just a child for the school as it was my first job. After gaining experience, I became comfortable and was keeping my steps cautiously and carefully on the path which was full of challenges. Each step taught me a lesson and opened the gates of success. Today I am enjoying my job to the fullest. I feel young with the children and have learnt so many things from my students. I feel that a teacher is always a learner and there is no full stop to the knowledge of the teacher.
