“Every girl has the right to determine her own destiny.” It is this motto, Ecole Globale International Girls’ School in Dehradun, Uttarakhand was started with, on 14th April 2012. The school believes that “individual choices matter and as such has been designed to offer an infinite range of opportunities for every student to explore her innate capabilities in every sphere.” Ms. Nandita Sahu is the principal of the school.

About the school

The school meticulously follows the work plan charted in the beginning and is steadily maintaining the ranking as one of the country’s best boarding schools.

The school has facilities for specialized training in sports, music, art, and finishing school adjuncts.

It is affiliated to CBSE and Cambridge International Examination Board.

Five centrally air-conditioned hostel blocks and 40 highly qualified teachers who are specially trained to work with pastoral care to enable students to receive continuous monitoring and attention.

Exposure to students

Sports: Students can select a sport on the first day itself and get extensive training from experienced instructors. Diet charts, special regiments to build stamina and strength, chances to participate in high-level competitions are offered. Shooting, Squash, Tennis, Swimming, Horse Riding, Martial arts are some of the sports activities and AstroTurf Hockey is on the agenda.

MUNs: Students participate in discussions on international issues to be prepared for leadership roles in public administration forums.

Tours: Students are taken on many field trips to add to the learning experience. “Nature walks, heritage walks, and visits to places of natural beauty” help them identify with nature and industrial visits help in gaining knowledge in the subjects. Foreign tours let them learn about the other countries.


Interaction: Students get chances to interact with experts in various fields, such as educators, sportspersons and so on. SPICMACAY guides students study different types of arts and interact with exponents from various parts of India to get introduced to Indian culture and art.

Health: Students access gym, yoga classes, cycling, and skating schedules to stay fit and enjoy nature. A qualified residential medical officer, staff nurses and attendants are present in the infirmary apart from the equipped dental clinic. Girls attend one on one and group sessions with a residential counsellor to maintain emotional well-being.

Usage of technology

Smart boards in classes help with A/V inputs. ICT labs are used for academic research and communicating with family on specific days. The campus is WiFi enabled and students make judicious use of the internet for educational purposes. iPads are given to senior students to work on assignments both from within and outside classrooms.


Younger children get chances to read books and feel at home while the senior ones get access to academic and reference books and light reading in every genre. Ecole conducts regular book fairs offering a variety of books to students, list of which is prepared by students.



Variety of cuisines is served at Ecole kitchen. Suggestions and upgrades to the menu are taken from students’ mess committee.


Career guidance

Admission officers and representatives from various universities have interactions with students of grade 12 on how to apply for overseas and Indian colleges and universities.
